Providence St. Peter Hospital Registered Nurses Preparing for Upcoming Negotiations!

We are quickly approaching the official start of our 2025 contract negotiation cycle for the Providence St. Peter RN contract—with our first bargaining date with Providence scheduled for March 17.

In preparation for our first day, our Union Bargaining Team met on January 15 to review feedback from completed bargaining surveys, & used this data to conduct a thorough audit of our own Collective Bargaining Agreement. Furthermore, our union has been working in close collaboration with our coalition partner unions, SEIU 1199NW & WSNA, to analyze and research the strongest regional and national contract language for healthcare workers; combining all of these resources to inform our initial set of proposals for Providence.

As we get to the table with the Employer, our Union Bargaining Team will communicate through regular bargaining updates; detailing the progress made, and discussions we’ve had at each session. Our bargaining updates will also include Contract Action Team meeting information, training opportunities, and actions we can take to strengthen our power at the table.

Providence workers across the state will head into contract negotiations in the months ahead. Our strength lies in our unity; despite the differences between our work locations and the nature of our roles- we share a collective vision: to set new standards for us, and for our patients. Achieving this will require the collective hard work of all union members statewide, but together, we have the power to make a meaningful difference and secure a better future.

“We’ve done a lot of prep work to ensure we’re addressing what matters most to our nurses; when we get to the bargaining table, we’re confident that our proposals will reflect that! I know that I’m looking forward to the work that’s still ahead of us!” —Haley Sweet, Neurology Unit RN & Hospital Staffing Committee Co-Chair
